Ocular Wavefront Sensor: Design and Simulation
نویسندگان
چکیده
We propose a sensor for ocular aberration measurement and validate the design with simulations. It involves the design of a CGH as encoded dots and its holographic reconstruction. The reconstructed dots are imaged on a CCD and a simple normalized intensity difference of the pair of dots gives the information of ocular spherocylindrical aberrations. The simulation results have demonstrated simultaneous wavefront detection of lower order Zernike modes with a resolution better that λ/50 for wide measurement range of ± 3.5λ with much reduced crosstalk.

Use of a Two-Channel Moiré Wavefront Sensor for Measuring Topological Charge Sign of the Vortex Beam and Investigation of Its Change Due to an Odd Number of Reflections
One of the solutions of the Helmholtz equation is the vortex beams. In the recent decades, production and applications of these types of beams have found serious attentions. Determination of the vortex beam topological charge and its sign are very important issues. Odd number of reflections of the vortex beam changes its vorticity. In this paper, we have used a q-plate to generate a vortex beam...
متن کاملDual-thread parallel control strategy for ophthalmic adaptive optics.
To improve ophthalmic adaptive optics speed and compensate for ocular wavefront aberration of high temporal frequency, the adaptive optics wavefront correction has been implemented with a control scheme including 2 parallel threads; one is dedicated to wavefront detection and the other conducts wavefront reconstruction and compensation. With a custom Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor that measure...
متن کاملMonochromatic ocular wavefront aberrations in the awake-behaving cat
Measurement of wavefront aberrations in human eyes has become a reliable, quantitative way of assessing the optical impact of experimental and corrective ocular manipulations. Wavefront measures have also been performed in several other species, but never in cats, an animal model of choice for many ocular studies. Our goal in this study was to measure wavefront aberrations reliably in live, awa...
متن کاملAdaptive Optics Correction of the Wavefront Distortions Induced by Segments Misalignment in Extremely Large Telescope
The capability of the adaptive optics to correct for the segmentation error is analyzed in terms of the residual wavefront RMS and the power spectral density of the phase. The analytical model and the end-to-end simulation give qualitatively equal results justifying the significance of the geometrical matching between segmentation geometry and the actuators/subaperture distribution of the adapt...
متن کاملNear work induced wavefront aberrations in myopia
We undertook a detailed analysis of the wavefront aberrations of the eyes of 20 young progressing myopes (mean age=22 years; mean spherical equivalent=-3.84 D, range -1.00 to -7.5 D) and twenty young age matched emmetropes (mean age=23 years; mean spherical equivalent=-0.00 D, range +0.25 to -0.25 D). A wavefront sensor was used to measure the ocular wavefront and a videokeratoscope was used to...
